Established in 1964, the Kidney Foundation of Canada is a national charity organization that is active in many fields.
They are a leader in funding medical research. They advocate for their target population in all levels of government. They hold health care forums, create and distribute patient information and refferal resources, provide patient services in terms of peer support counselling, equipment, and financial support. They work closely with the health care team in each area.
While helping those living with kidney disease, the Kidney Foundation also takes a pro-active approach, promoting kidney wellness, education, and healthy living. They also are strong supporters or organ donation awareness activities.
