Kerry was in show business for over 15 years. He was a diabetic Type I. Due to his diabetes, Kerry had over 30 surgeries just to keep him alive. And that wasn't the end of his medical problems.

He was also diagnosed with cancer of a kidney, then after that came the failure of the other, plus numerous heart attacks were just a few of the many medical experiences Kerry had been through.

Kerry's experiences drove him to work harder and to strive to make people see that life is simple. in his opinion, "WE (as people) make it difficult for ourselves".

With a career as a comedian, Kerry had decided never to marry, between "life on the road" and his poor health, he thought there was little his lifestyle could offer a partner.

Summer of 1999 changed this mentality. Kerry met Ildiko, a geophysicist. Ildiko accepted not only Kerry's career, but his health condition and proposal of marriage. A year later Kerry and Ildiko were married.

Kerry was also featured on The Movie Network's Comedy Special MONDO TABOO, CBC-TV's Hour Magazine, CHCH-TV's Comedy @ Club 54, MUCH MUSIC and at Comedy Festivals in Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, Montreal and Boston.

Kerry's shows focused on social satire which point out life's pitfalls using dark humor.

In the last few years of his life, headliner Kerry Talmage performed at comedy clubs across Canada, the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and the South African Republic.

For those that were lucky enough to see performance of Kerry Talmage, you just couldn't forget it. For a comic to get standing ovations in every room of every city on a tour is unheard of. Kerry did.

Kerry Talmage can still be seen on rerun episodes of "Comedy at Club 54". He toured around the world, amazing audiences with his quick wit and personality. Standing ovations in clubs of all sizes. Despite having just come from a dialysis treatment, or just being discharged from hospital.

With his career on the rise, his next goal in life was to expand his new family and become a father. He and Ildko cherished the idea of children and wanted to enjoy parenthood. Unfortunately, Kerry died before he had the opportunity.

Kerry toured with the likes of Prince, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Nash the Slash, The Tragically Hip, Dough and The Slugs, and has appeared in the feature films Mob Story and Arena.
