All these talented headliners DONATE their time on stage to help raise funds for the Kerry Talmage Endowment fund with the Kidney Foundation - established in honor of Kerry; an internationally reknowned comedian who's passing in 2004 was a direct result of his kidney disease.
They are the very heart of the show; this event could not exist without them. And what a show they give!
Peter is nominated as “Stand-Up Comic Of The Year” this year, and was also previously nominated for the same distinguished title in 2002 - again for the Canadian Comedy Awards!
Heralding from Vancouver, BC, He's a very busy guy - along with his own Comedy Now special on CTV, and a raft of on-going voice-over jobs, he has appeared in more than thirty films, series, specials, and movies-of-the-week, most of them in the past few years.
Highlights include featured appearances, often as straight men or deft technicians, on such creep-fests as The Outer Limits, and four different shots at The X-Files (plus a goofier part on The New Addams Family). Instantly recognizable for his dark hair, oversized eyes, and bow legs, Kelamis has had notable film
roles in Happy Gilmore, Turbulance 2, I'll Be Home For Christmas, and Best In Show. He had a recurring role in the Showtime series Beggars and Choosers, in which he played the head writer on a TV show. He was seen opposite Angelina Jolie in “Life Or Something Like It” and the film “LaLa Wood” with Martin Short. He has worked on “The Twilight Zone”, and “Stargate”. He was recently in “Hockey Night In Canada” for the CBC and just finished working with Morgan Freeman and Justin Timberlake on “Edison”.
He performed at the “2005 MONTREAL-JUST FOR LAUGHS FESTIVAL” as a Gala Performer and just returned from Scotland where he was one of the leads in the film, “Almost Heaven”.
Now living in Los Angeles, Ryan was bitten by the acting bug at a very young age. That bug was carrying a virus that caused his glands to swell, cutting of blood supply to the hormone that provides normal people with the capability to do productive things in society.
Through his younger years, Ryan's fondness for theatre grew, and soon he knew all the words to Les Miserables. Naturally his family thought he was just gay, so they were very surprised to find out that he was not only straight, but actually beginning down the performer's road. It was a profession that ran in the family. His mother, an acclaimed Actor, and his father, an Actor/Playwright, reacted to Ryan's new career path lovingly...
His list of credits is impressive, including four appearances on the "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival, The Chicago Comedy Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide's Fringe/Arts Festival and numerous others. His TV credits include, Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham", The Late Late Show with Craig Kilbourn, Comedy NOW!, The Sean Cullen Show, and more. Ryan has also been involved in film, including "Finn on the Fly" and "Going the Distance". You have likely also seen Ryan in a well known gum commercial...
Recipient of the Canadian Comedy Award, The Phil Hartman Award and the "Best Street Act" from the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Ryan is a must see!
Lars began his comedy career with an auspicious beginning at a pub named Fargo's in Edmonton. For the first year the comedy world was exactly the same and Lars spent it wondering what auspicious meant. In 2004 Lars won the Alberta Comedy Idol competition naming him Alberta's funniest new comedian. He was a Semi-Finalist in the Corner Gas "On-line Comic Genius" contest, and was featured on CBC Radio's "So, You Think You're Funny".
A solid headliner in his own right, his clean and clever style has propelled him to the forefront of ‘comedians to call’. He has been on stage in numerous venues and stages in both Canada and in the US including most recently at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival. Recipient of 5 comedy awards, his accolades are also growing. In tribute to his act, Ed Magazine named Lars one of the Top Ten Comedians to watch… if you’re already at a show… and if he’s on it. With a plug like that, you know Lars is a man on the move!
He has opened for the likes of Mitch Fatel, Kevin Pollack and Aries Spears. Has shared the stage with Russell Peters and Mike MacDonald (he's good at sharing).
Kidney Komedy Night has special meaning to Lars. He lost his father Dale to kidney failure in September 2001. He is honored to be a part of this noble and worthwhile cause.
After graduating from Carleton University in Ottawa with a degree in Psychology, Scott took the next logical step that anyone with such a prestigious certificate would make. He pursued a career in life insurance sales. Then, he took his sales and financial skills, as well as his knowledge of the human psyche and got a job hustling mortgages at Bank of Montreal. He has since realized that people are screwed up…. because of money. In 1997, he moved to Calgary, and decided to pursue something else. He had no idea it would be stand-up comedy.
Scott has performed at every Yuk Yuk’s venue in Western Canada. He was a finalist in the Alberta’s Search for Funniest New Comic in 1999, and was showcased for the Just For Laughs Homegrown Comedy Competition in 2001 and 2004. He has performed for numerous corporate functions, fundraisers and golf tournaments as a member Yuk Yuks’ Western Canada Roster.
Scott’s fearless attitude and versatility as well as his comfortable presence in front of a camera landed him a job as host of M-Style, a “Maxim Magazine” type show on Men TV on the digital network. Look for it on channel 97, where it is played 6 days a week, 3 times per day.
This military brat has an overwhelming urge to travel and has taken him to six different countries in the last three years. Whether it’s Watrous, Saskatchewan or Luangphabang, Laos, Scott will dazzle you with wacky stories about life on the road.
